Market Salary Rate
(AMSR) Report
The evidence that the salary offered meets the annual market salary rate for the occupation in that location - sourced, cited and defensible.
What the market salary rate requires
A nomination cannot be approved unless the terms and conditions of employment are no less favourable than those that are or would be provided to an equivalent Australian worker performing equivalent work in the same workplace at the same location. Where there is no equivalent worker, the annual market salary rate has to be established by reference to the market.
That is an evidentiary exercise, and the delegate is entitled to test it. A single figure from one salary website is not evidence of a market rate. What holds up is a range built from several independent sources for the same occupation in the same region, with the recommended rate sitting inside it and the reasoning visible.
What the report contains
Occupation and duties, mapped to the ANZSCO or OSCA unit group
Comparable advertised roles for the same occupation and region, captured and dated
Jobs and Skills Australia and ABS earnings data for the occupation
PayScale and Indeed salary data for the location
The applicable modern award and the relevant classification level, with the minimum rate
Equivalent worker analysis where the business employs an Australian in the same role
Superannuation and non-salary benefits treated separately from base salary
An annual market salary range, a recommended rate, and a findings table
Where the salary sits matters
The report states the range honestly. Where the offered salary sits at or above it, the report says so and shows why. Where it sits below, we tell you before delivery rather than writing around it - a market salary report that asserts a rate the data does not support is worse than no report at all, because it invites the delegate to check.

Common questions
Is the figure inclusive of superannuation?
The report treats base salary and superannuation separately, because the nomination does. The form asks which your figure is so the comparison is like for like.
What if an Australian already does the same job?
Then that is the primary evidence and the report leads with it. Give us their classification and what they are paid, and payslips or a contract if you have them.
Does the report cover regional differences?
Yes. Salary data is drawn for the location of the position, not a national average, because that is what the criterion asks about.
Can I order this with a genuine position report?
Yes, and the two together are A$1,100. Tick it on the form and the price updates.
How long does it take?
10 to 12 working days as standard, or 5 to 7 working days for 30% more and 1 to 2 working days for 50% more - chosen on the form.
